Over lunch back in 2006, the Squid founders exchanges ideas on the emerging data tsunami and how this would shake up the legacy models of BI, CRM and software integration. They wanted to build a data-brain to collect and transform data into actionable insight & performance levers for businesses.
Turns out, the representation of this vision was on their plates….Squid.
 ADRIEN SCHMIDT is Co-Founder and CEO of Squid Solutions. Adrien has led the company from inception, spearheading Squid’s product development, funding, strategic account management and international development. A regular speaker at industry events, Adrien champions the Squid concept of ‘Big Data – Lean Projects’, an agile develoment approach to streamline the delivery of tailor-made data solutions and analytics apps to business end-users. Prior to Squid, Adrien held product management positions at EnvoyWorldWide (US) and Gemplus in France. After growing up in Berkely, California, Adrien received advanced degrees in engineering and business in France at l’Ecole Centrale de Paris and Sciences-Po. Having spent much of his youth on the slopes at Lake Tahoe, Adrien remains an avid skiier and outdoor sports enthusiast. |
 JOHN BROADHURST is SVP of Business Development, a portfolio which includes commercial sales, new market development and B2B partnerships. John has been one of the driving forces behind Squid’s DMP, Smart Data service portfolio and the creation of the ‘Data Audit SWAT Team’, all key drivers in Squid’s robust performance since 2011. Under John’s leadership, Squid has extended its strong customer base in e-commerce, media & telecom to the premium FMCG, luxury & lifestyle, marketing and retail sectors. John brings to Squid an entrepreneurial background in television, marketing services and digital media in Europe and Asia. Along the way, John somehow managed to fit in graduate studies in business at HEC without compromising his creativity. |
 SERGE FANTINO is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Squid Solutions. Serge brings over twenty years of experience in software development, data science, systems IT and advanced analytics to Squid. Prior to Squid, Serge was Director of R&D at SLP Infoware (subsidiary of the Group GEMPLUS) a leading European player in behavioral analyses and marketing optimization in the telecom sector. After earning his undergraduate degree in Formal Mathmatics at Nice-Sophia Antipolis University (France), Serge did his doctoral studies at the prestigious Laboratoire de Mathématiques J.A. Dieudonne under the direction of INRIA and the National Center for Scientific Research. In his (limited) downtime, Serge is an accomplished photographer, voracious reader and feerless world traveler. |
 JULIEN THEULIER is the Squid SaaS Platform Manager & Chief Data Plumber. Julien brings 13 years experience in performing complex data integrations, audits and reconciliations as well as database expertise (in particular on MMP share nothing architecture). Julien’s expertise in optimizing SQL queries is mission critical to building our In-Database analytical software. Prior to joing Squid, Julien worked in the telecom, banking and retail sectors in predictive modeling, software development and SaaS platform management. When allowed out of his cage, Julien travels abroad or spends his time breaking bones snowboarding in the Alps. |
 XAVIER BEBIN is Squid Project Manager and Lead Data Analyst. Xavier brings fifteen years experience in software development and data analysis in sectors such as retail, e-commerce, telecom, insurance, logistics and media. Xavier is also a leader of the Squid ‘Data SWAT team’, our elite unit of data scientists, expert analyts and App developers which conducts highly complex, sensitive, short-term missions to evaluate customer data quality…often the first step in Squid’s ‘Lean’ approach. Prior to Squid, Xavier held multiple R&D leadership roles at Gemplus and managed critical offshore R&D teams in Asia. When not acting as a ‘data hero’, Xavier can most likely be found in the nearest art-house cinema or playhouse movie theater. |
 OLIVIER BALBOUS is Chief Software Architect. Olivier is also the key driver of R&D of the Squid SaaS back-end, REST API and JSSDK. Before joining Squid, Olivier spent 15 years as Engineering Manager designing front and back-end web platforms for companies such as the Banque Populaire, Alsthom and IRCAM.  GREGOIRE DOUMERGUE is Systems and Net Administrator. In this capacity, Greg has one hand inside the server’s guts at all times while opening new VPN access to clients with the other. As an adept of the KISS paradigm, Greg brings deep expertise in security, monitoring, automation, open source operation systems, racking and cabling. Prior to Squid, Greg spent over 10 years in telecom and data hosting, accompanying customers and technical support teams in search of performance, simplicity and communication inside complex I.T. infrastructures. When not on his laptop, Greg enjoys reading, flying kites – not kidding – and bicycling in town & country. |
